Wild, desolate, barren, uninhabited are all apt adjectives for the hauntingly beautiful Skeleton Coast. Located in the far northern reaches of the Namib Desert, temperatures are moderated by the Benguela current which brings cold waters from Antarctica. When this cool ocean air meets the hotter desert air, dense coastal fogs form in the morning but burn off by 9 or 10. Imagine walking along this coast amidst remnants of ages-old ship wrecks and seal colonies.
