As the short grass plays out by the end of March, the migration makes its way toward the long grass plains in the Central Serengeti. The grass in this transition region is not very good, requiring the animals to keep moving. It is a gorgeous area of flatlands as far as the eye can see dotted with the occasional kopje. Another highlight is the Gol Kopje area which is well known for its abundance of large cats, especially cheetah.
