Under stated this is not, however, Chui Lodge in the Lake Naivasha area appeals to one’s sense of the exotic.  The main areas are decorated from top to bottom with very detailed, hand-constructed  Lelshwa and olive wood furniture and carvings while the interiors are graced with colorful, original textile artworks done on site.

Each of the eight cottages is uniquely designed and has a veranda with views of the sanctuary and Rift escarpment.  The marble basin tops, roaring log fires, artistically decorated windows and magnificent four-poster beds add a cozy, warm touch.

Activities include game drives in the private 20,000 acre Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary, bush walks around the sanctuary’s lake frontage, a visit to the Oserian Flower Farm, a boat ride around Lake Naivasha and excursions to Hells Gate National Park or Elsemere Conservation Center.  The Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a fascinating diversity of wildlife including rhino, leopard, Grevy zebra, giraffe, Greater kudu, Beisa oryx and hyena.  This is a wonderful place to enjoy your end-of-day sundowners.
