Situated on the banks of the Galana River in a remote part of the little
visited Tsavo East National Park, Galdessa is a true oasis of comfort
in the wild. Its location on the river allows for good game viewing
without even leaving camp. Galdessa is located in the heart of one of
Africa's most successful conservation projects with 33 black rhinos in
its direct vicinity.
Accommodations consist of 11 spacious thatched and semi-tented bungalows
on wooden platforms each with en-suite bath and private veranda. The
bathrooms are large and have traditional bucket showers, flush toilets
and basins with running water. The bandas are nicely situated to ensure
your privacy. Each is a good distance apart from one another and natural
foliage is used to subtly conceal neighboring bandas.
Activities include day and night game drives, guided walks and bush
dinners. Galdessa is particularly known for their walking safaris.
Game you might see includes lion, cheetah, serval cat, genet, elephant,
giraffe, waterbuck, impala, lesser kudu, dik dik, zebra, fringe eared
oryx, eland and mongoose.
