Would you like to get a sense for what life was like in Kenya’s pioneer
days? Loldia Farm was established by a settler who came a century ago
to carve out an expansive ranch system from the highlands and country
around the gorgeous Rift Valley Lakes. Nestled under acacia and fig
trees on the green western shores of Lake Naivasha, Loldia House provides
a uniquely peaceful environment in which to put your feet up and rest
awhile.
As inviting as this sounds, there are many enticing
opportunities to explore this beautiful area. Loldia House is well situated
to visit the flamingo lakes of Nakuru, Elementaita and Bogoria. Or perhaps
you would rather walk or ride horseback through herds of cattle, flocks
of farmed ostriches or wilder game such as impala and waterbuck. Boat
trips on Lake Naivasha can be arranged for fishing (tilapia), bird watching
or a trip to Crescent Island for a game walk. If you’d like to visit
Hell’s Gate National Park with its spectacular canyon, hot springs and
abundant wildlife, this can also be arranged. If you’d prefer to picnic
while hiking along Mt. Longonot or Mt. Eburn you just need to let your
host know. It’s all about doing what makes you happy.
