Situated right outside of Amboseli National Park, Tortilis Camp enjoys
spectacular views across the plains to Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru
in Tanzania. Shaded by a natural forest of Acacia Tortilis thorn trees
from which it takes it name, Tortilis Camp is committed to the environment
with its rustic simplicity, unobtrusive design and attention to comfort.
Each of the eighteen spacious, comfortable tents feature en-suite baths
and a thatched roof overhanging a large verandah. We truly liked the
tents but found the camp to have more of a large lodge feeling rather
than that of the warm, cozy welcome of the smaller tented camps.
Activities include game drives, guided walks with a Maasai guide and
visits to local villages.
