Situated in the heart of the Namib Desert in the 51,000 acre private
Kulala Wilderness Reserve, Kulala Wilderness Camp lies at the foot of
a mountain situated west to best catch the magnificent Namibian sunsets.
Each of the ten simple, yet comfortable Meru style chalets with stone
en-suite baths allow you to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the valley
and distant mountains from your private verandah. A staircase leading
up to the flat rooftop above the bathroom provides the ideal setting
to sleep under the stars on a provided bedroll.
On the edge of the world’s oldest desert, the wildlife’s ability to
adapt to this harsh environment is fascinating. Present, but in sparse
numbers are springbok, gemsbok, ostrich, bat-eared fox and the rarely
seen aardwolf. Activities include excursions to the Sossusvlie dunes,
early morning balloon rides (at an extra cost), guided walks and scenic
nature drives.
