Palmwag Rhino Camp, located in the 1,000,000 acre private Palmwag Reservation,
guarantees a unique, exclusive wilderness experience. Run in conjunction
with the Save the Rhino Trust, it provides an amazing insight into the
ecology and conservation of this area. Fresh water springs sustain healthy
populations of the desert adapted black rhino, elephant, giraffe, kudu,
oryx and Hartmann’s mountain zebra. Predators are also present in good
number including lion, leopard, cheetah and hyenas.
Accommodations are in eight meru-style tents with en-suite bathrooms
including hand basin, flush toilet and bucket shower with hot water on
request.
As you would expect, the main activity is rhino tracking both on foot
and by vehicle. Full day outings with picnic lunch are offered as well
as day and night nature drives.
