Unlike the other Selous lodges, Beho Beho is situated in the highlands
rather than on the river. The views out over the valley are spectacular
and the camp is ideally situated to take full advantage of the cooling
breezes.
Each of the eight luxuriously spacious stone and thatch cottages has
large en-suite baths and is furnished with king sized beds, Zanzibari
day beds, and writing desks. The front of the cottage is totally open
and extends out onto a large verandah.
Safaris are in open vehicles, on foot or by boat. We particularly like
the boating safari on Lake Tagalala which is surrounded by a number of
natural springs that attract a host of birdlife as well as a large hippo
and crocodile population. After enjoying a bush breakfast, a short walk
takes you to the hot sulphur springs, Maji Moto, where you can swim in
the deep natural pools.
