Set on a sweeping curve of the Rufiji River, each of Sand Rivers’ seven well appointed, open fronted cottages is ideally situated to catch the ever changing sights and sounds of this majestic river and its inhabitants.  Well known for its high quality guiding you can choose from adventures on foot, by boat or in an open Landrover. 

On our last visit we enjoyed watching a lioness and her cub frolic on the water’s edge while sipping a glass of wine from the safety of our boat.  One night we fell asleep to the gruntings of a hippo that took up residence behind our cottage for the evening.  We highly recommend a night fly-camping (extra charge) or for the more adventuresome a 4-5 day walking safari to visit the different eco-systems.
