Conservation activities include:

- Guided wildlife walks on the open plains and along the river
- Day and night game drives
- Rhino tracking with the Ol Pejeta rangers (maximum 2 guests per patrol)
- Individual rhino assessments with researcher identification material
- Input of data into the Ol Pejeta computer database
- Boran and Ankole cattle pastoral care i.e. herding, spraying
- Guided visits to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary where orphaned and rescued chimps are rehabilitated into family groups
- Learn how to use radio-tracking equipment to find, for example, the resident cheetah Toki (featured in the BBC documentary ‘Toki’s Tale’)
- Radio-collared lion tracking with the Ol Pejeta lion researcher
- Elephant and general wildlife monitoring with resident rangers and researchers

You may be able to observe special activities such as animal capture/release or translocations should this type of activity be going on during your time on the Conservancy. Management-level guest speakers can also come to camp and talk about their fascinating and complex work, integrating wildlife conservation and research with domestic cattle, alongside tourism and community development.

A four night stay is recommended to truly get a feel for what happens on this conservancy.  You may, however, shorten or lengthen your stay to suit your schedule.

Given that Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a working conservancy where issues of security and safety are of utmost importance, all activities and you, as an observer/participant, are entirely subject to the advice and instruction of the Security and Wildlife management and teams during your stay.
